Asian Cabbage

~ Asian Cabbage ~

A staple meal growing up for me was always sauteed cabbage with hot dogs.  Their is something consoling and pleasantly relaxed about this dish.  I immediately am taken back in time to gloomy school afternoons and lots of ketchup and mustard.  So as my first meal back home, I found this familiar dinner a welcomed comfort.

This time around an Asian flare was added.  I am quite a fan, and would add real ginger and toasted sesame seeds the next time I make this.

Asian Cabbage
1 head of cabbage
4-5 tbsp of oil of choice [olive, canola, sesame]
1-2 tbsp of minced garlic
following spices to taste:
ginger, garlic, and onion powder
black pepper
tamari and soy sauce.
Cook the garlic in oil first for a few minutes in a large skillet or wok.  Then add chopped  cabbage.  Add spices to taste, I eye gauged these.  Stop cooking when the cabbage begins to turn tender.

Served along hot dogs over basmati rice.  love.
